NEW CLASS: Growing Your Own Salad Garden
Saturday, September 12 — Two Sessions: 10 AM–12 PM and 2 PM–4 PMA salad garden might be the single easiest, fastest, and most rewarding thing you can grow. Many of these greens are ready to harvest in 30 days, they thrive in our cooler fall weather, and every leaf is packed with nutrition — vitamin K, vitamin C, iron, and folate, for a fraction of the calories of almost anything else you’ll eat.
In this two-hour, hands-on class, Mike Cunningham — teaching farmer at Country Gardens Farm — will walk you through everything you need to grow your own:
- Lettuce, spinach, baby leaf kale, bok choy, and other Asian greens — what makes each one easy to grow, and which is right for your space
- The nutrition and health benefits packed into every leaf
- Exactly when to plant each crop here in zip 30265, so you’re not guessing — and you can start the very same week
- Organic pest and disease control, watering, and harvest tips so your greens keep producing for months
