Pastured Poultry

Here on our farm we raise pastured poultry. We get the chicks when they are one day old. We raise a cornish cross breed. The are kept in the brooder for a couple weeks or untill they are big enough to go out on pasture. When we move them to the pasture, they are put in shelters approx. 10'X10' with an open bottom to allow them to get to fresh green grass everyday. They are fed a all natural mixture, and on pasture 24 hours a day.

The shelters are moved once a day to new grass. The chickens usually stay out on pasture for 8 weeks and then processed, packaged, and frozen. We have chicken for sale here at the farm almost year round. We sale pastured poultry for $3.20/lb, the average bird weighs 3 to 5 pounds.
